Firefighters' calendar raises funds for Assistance Office, other charities - Usually Bonita Springs firefighters spend the majority of their time suiting up to rescue people from flames and car accidents, but once a year they get to suit down to just their flame-resistant trousers to benefit the community. The Bonita Springs Professional Firefighters' Local 3444 is now selling its 2007 calendar. "This is our fifth year of producing the calendar, and over the past four years, we've been able to donate nearly $28,000 to local charities and families in need," said Greg DeWitt, president of the firefighters' union, Local 3444. "We've found the calendar to be a fun and effective way to raise money. It's a professional, quality product that people can enjoy all year."
